    National Science and Technology Museum

    The National Science and Technology Museum is located in Park No. 6 of Jiouru 1st Road in the Sanmin District. The museum is composed of Northern and Southern areas. The Exhibition Buildings are in the Northern area. There is an administration center, 18 exhibition halls, three temporary exhibition halls, a 3-D movie theater, multi-media theater, library, video and audio room, maintenance factory, restaurant, and gift shop. The Southern area is used as a teaching center, including: classrooms, laboratory, storage room, and international conference hall, all of which are used for educational and storage functions. The total size of the museum is 19.16 hectares. It shoulders the responsibility of promoting technological and social education in Southern Taiwan. The Museum is the largest science and technology museum in Asia and the second largest in the world.

    Golden Lion Lake Scenic Area

    It was originally a half hectare hill with a long east- west direction and short north- south direction. It is now a recreation area. Verdant willow trees beside the lake are like dancers swaying and a rainbow appears to be lying in the lake. It is a romantic atmosphere and a great choice of recreation for residents.

    Hakka Cultural Museum

    Since it opened to the public in November 1998, many residents, domestic and foreign groups have visited the Museum to better appreciate the hard work of Hakka ancestors as well as the beauty of Hakka traditions and culture. Its three-section compound is also very attractive and is listed as one of the most cultural and recreational spots in Kaohsiung city.

    Tower of Light

    Located in Sanmin Park No. 1, the Tower of Light, after its renovation, will become a new landmark and sightseeing spot of Kaohsiung city along the blue water road of Love River. Bridge No. 21 on its Northeast side will connect Samin District and Gushan District to make the entire area more vibrant, as well as an art and culture center in addition to an outdoor recreation center in Northern Kaohsiung.

    Vision for Kaohsiung

    The designing concept of the Vision for Kaoshiung is based on the theme of “moving city” and is presented by using digital archives. In order to combine cultural landscape and city vision, 3D simulation interaction zone, multi-medial history hallway, exhibition of sightseeing spots on postcards, and exhibition of urban planning blueprints are provided to allow residents to understand the development of city policy, Kaohsiung’s Train Station and the vision of Kaohsiung City.

    Dried goods and sundries Market

    Sanfong Central Street is located on Chienguo 3rd Road, a very famous sundries street. Whenever there is holiday, the street will be crowded with customers. It is as famous as Dihua Street in Taipei.

    Located in the back of Kaohsiung Train Station, Dalian Street has become a renowned footwear center in Southern Taiwan with its professional shoemakers and footwear retailers, since 1976.
